“ Lovely little shop selling decent hot pasty’s and cakes. Lush latte and good fridge magnets ”
“ Stopped here 3 times on a coastal walk (!). Dog friendly. Lovely little spot for a bite to eat and some essentials. Nice garden to sit if you want (we didn’t) and friendly staff. Decent coffee and a smoothie on the first stop, then a Cornish pasty and a beer in the second which we ate on the beach (pasties were average, of course they are not made here). Good looking selection of sweet baked goods too but didn’t buy any). Original plan was to have a cream tea back at Bedruthan steps but noted someone’s review further down saying “The ice cream was so good it nearly made me cry. If you walk past here and don’t get an ice cream you should be ashamed of yourself. What kind of monster are you?” So we didn’t want to be ashamed of ourselves and changed our plan post pasty and returned for ice creams (Treleavens) to fuel the remainder of our walk. Absolutely no regrets. Great flavours (none of the boring ones you often find in tourist spots) and the staff were happy to recommend and also let us taste some to help our indecisive minds. New York lime cheesecake, millionaire, peanut butter chocolate and golden crunch all delicious. All in all, just the gem you want on a coastal walk! ”
“ Stumbled upon a closed cafe during winter rambles, however, on the Easter weekend this treasure opened its doors again. And it was so worth the wait. Tucked away at the end of a short path that gives access to a wonderfully flat and apparently safe and clean beach is Porthcothan Bay Stores. Don't be fooled by the title. It does cater as an emergency shop with a few grocery items, but this truly a family friendly, family run by very friendly people, cafe, ice cream parlour and dry beach goods outlet. Not very big but everyone engaged in public facing activity was happy smiley and welcoming. It was day one of what will undoubtedly be a long season but this was a great start. A good selection of cakes and savouries and the coffee served (brought to the table) was excellent. Hot, good flavour and in Biodegradable cups. I wholly recommend the crunchy brownie. There were some trinkets in the cafe that were very eye catching and tempted me greatly. The small outdoor seating area was comfortable and clean with an attached seaside goods shop as well. Wetsuit hire at 10 per day most excellent value. All in all this will become a regular visiting spot for me. I e no doubt as the season progresses things will become far busier, but if you can get in before the rush you'll be treated to some proper service in a beautiful location. Well done. Open from 9 - 4.30 although times may vary I am sure according to weather and clientele. Toilets and parking are across the road from the beach access path. Pay and display ( both card and cash). This venue is not suitable for wheelchair access without a real struggle. Highly recommended. ”
“ A great little beach side store, selling a variety of snacks, food, drinks, beers, coffee and other odds and ends. Great Cornish pasties. ”
“ Delicious ice cream, not the cheapest but a great portion size! Took allergies seriously with nutty ice creams stored in a separate freezer with a different scoop - very reassuring. ”
“ I bought a well earned ice-cream after walking along the coastal footpath from Mawgan Porth ”
“ Beautiful beach with Easter to October RNLI lifeguards. Excellent cafe with good coffee and delicious oat and date slices. Gorgeous view from the cliffs. Quite challenging climb. Not recommended for those with mobility problems. ”
“ We visited here during the Easter holidays and found out that we couldn’t get onto the beach as my son is in a wheelchair. One of the guys that works there told us about the beach wheelchair which loaned and he even helped get my son onto the beach as I had my other son with my who was in a buggy. The service and help we received was outstanding and we were very thankful that we could enjoy the beach! ”
